From the moment of entry, our main aim in English is to provide pupils with experiences that excite, engage and instil passion in reading, writing and communicating. We place high-quality texts at the heart of our English curriculum and aspire for all children to develop a deep-rooted love of reading and writing. We know that English teaches our children so much more than the necessary reading and writing skills for life. Through the range of texts children are exposed to, they are taught about wider world issues, allowing our children to grow their hearts as well as their minds.
